There are so many charities out there that it can be hard to know which one you want to donate to, or which ones you should trust. When giving to a charity, it doesn't hurt to take a few minutes to do some research on it to make sure it's a good fit for what you want to do. Some organizations also put on events where you can help raise money by participating rather than by donating. Extra Life is an organization that asks people to sign up to stream themselves playing games to help raise money to support their local Children's Miracle Network Hospital.

The organization Foundation to Decrease World Suck puts on a fundraising event similar to others in that they ask for either direct donations, or contribute sales during the event period toward to total raised. There is a twist though, people can make a video about what charity they want to receive part of the money raised, and why that charity should get some funding. These videos are submitted to the event website, and are then voted on by the public. These votes determine which charities get the funding from the event.
